NATIONAL SPECIALIST TRAINING IN PSYCHIATRY

JULY 2015 INTAKE TO BASIC SPECIALIST TRAINING (BST)

Applications are invited for the Basic Specialist Training Deaneries accredited by the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland.  Details of the individual Deaneries and how to apply are available on the College’s website www.irishpsychiatry.ie

 

Trainees who successfully complete the BST programme will be automatically eligible for Higher Specialist Training in Psychiatry.

 

Applicants are also invited to apply for part-time/flexible training.

 

Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 16th January 2015.

Shortlisting will apply and will be based on information supplied by applicants on their application form.  Successful applicants must be entered on the Trainee Specialist Division of the Medical Register maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland by 12th July, 2015 to take up their appointment.

 

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Tuesday, 24th February 2015.

JULY 2015 INTAKE TO HIGHER SPECIALIST TRAINING (HST)

Applications are invited for the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland accredited National Higher Training Schemes in:

(i)                 Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and

(ii)               Adult Psychiatry (and related disciplines – clinical and academic posts)

Due to the introduction of streamlined training, any doctor currently eligible for Higher Specialist Training, but considering a start date later than July 2015 should also submit an application now. 

 

Applicants are also invited to apply for part-time/flexible training.

 

Details on how to apply are available on the College’s website www.irishpsychiatry.ie

Closing date for receipt of application is Monday, 16th February 2015.  Shortlisting will apply and will be based on information supplied by applicants on their application form.  Successful applicants must be entered on the Trainee Specialist Division of the Medical Register maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland by 12th July 2015 to take up their appointment.

 

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place between Monday, 9th – Wednesday, 11th March 2015.

The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital is hosting an open
evening for final year medical students and Senior House Officer Doctors
who are interested in specialising in the area of Obstetrics/Gynaecology on
Wednesday, 21st January 2015 at 6pm.
The Open Evening will provide an opportunity to meet Consultants from the
Department and to learn more in the area of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in
the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital.
The Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital, Dublin is a voluntary
teaching hospital with national, regional and area responsibilities for
ensuring the optimal health of mothers, women and infants (over 8,000
births in 2013). The Hospital is a national tertiary referral centre for
specialised services including maternal and fetal medicine, neonatology,
gynaecology and anaesthesia.
The Hospital has a substantial academic portfolio in terms of
mutli-disciplinary education, research and training. The Hospital hosts
two university departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the National
Cervical Cytology Training Centre and the Hub Centre for continuing
Midwifery education in the greater Dublin area. In addition, the Research
Laboratory in the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital is a leading
European Centre for Molecular Biology Research.

Masterclass in Dermoscopy on the Thursday afternoon
along with a Cryosurgery Masterclass.
