Tom O’Dowd was appointed as Professor of General Practice
in Trinity College 1993, having previously worked
in academic primary care in
Cardiff and Nottingham in the UK.
He was elected a Fellow of Trinity College in 1996. In addition to his academic
role he is a principal in general practice in the Tallaght area of Dublin

Dr Brendan O’ Shea graduated BA MB BCh BAO ex TCD in 1986,
completing Specialist Training in General Practice in 1989.
He is currently on the Specialist Divisions of The IMC for General
Practice and Occupational Medicine.
Following a period in full time Clinical practice in these disciplines; he became
involved with both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education from 2005
